No Blade Lasik & No Blade Cataract Surgery now in Cebu!
In order to maintain our status as one of the most advanced eye facilities in the country, we recently acquired the new Alcon LenSx – the first laser system approved by the U.S. FDA for cataract surgery. This system delivers an image guided computer precision that demonstrates an enhanced surgical ACCURACY and tremendous REPRODUCIBLITY. This has replaced many of the steps in the cataract surgery eliminating crucial steps in which may be prone to human error.
LARRAZABAL EYE has been at to forefront of Refractive Surgery since 2002 and has performed the most number of LASIK Procedures outside Metro Manila (>10,000 procedures to date). To maintain its status as one of the premiere eye facilities in Asia, we recently updated to a brand new state of art ALCON WAVELIGHT REFRACTIVE STATION.
This station combined is one of the fastest systems in the world by breaking the speed barrier by doubling its firing rate. This offers one diopter (1.00 or 100 grade) of correction in just two (2) seconds, with a 6.5mm optical zone. It represents a new generation of refractive technology referred to as “High Performance Vision Correction,” that allows patients to achieve exceptional results under all lighting situations, day and night, reducing incidents of “halos” and glare.
The station’s Femtosecond Laser ( WAVELIGHT FS200), a 200 kHz Laser that is impressive because of its speed and ability to make the flap needed for LASIK surgery. It allows the surgeon a freedom of choice with regard to diameter, shape, thickness and location of the flap to suit the individual needs of the patient.

Subject: Cataract Surgery Cost & Info + our new Alcon Lensx femtosecond laser for cataract surgery ( No blade Cataract Surgery)
Greeting!
There are currently two methods used to remove Cataracts: The traditional Phacoemulsification and Laser assisted Cataract Surgery. The details of each procedure are explained very well in the website. We were one of the few centers back in 1996 that started doing PHACO cataract procedures under topical anesthesia. We are currently doing nearly 2,000 cataract procedures yearly. Our average surgical time is between 4 to 7 minutes. It may however take longer in special cases. The procedure does not involve needles as we use only anesthetic drops to numb the eye. We do not also patch the eye post op. Instead, we provide protective eye goggles. The cost of procedure (Package) per eye for traditional Phaco is between P35, 000 to P45, 000 depending on the type of Intra Ocular Lens to be used. The package include all expenses including the Professional fee, Operating room charge, use of PHACO machine fee, Anesthesia, Lens implants and Medications including Eye drops. Phacoemulsification is commonly but erroneously referred to as “laser eye surgery.” While this procedure is currently the standard for cataract removal worldwide, it is NOT laser cataract surgery. True laser removal of cataracts was previously unavailable to patients, until very recently (see below on femtosecond cataract surgery).
If a patient is qualified for PHILHEALTH either as a direct beneficiary or dependent, the cost would now range between P20,000 to P30, 000 per eye depending of the type of Lens implant used. Premium lenses such as Multifocal lenses are also available at a higher value. If a patient is accredited with an affiliated HMO, He or She will only spend for the Lens implant used. (P10,000 to P20, 000 per eye). Affiliated HMOs include; Caritas, Medicard, Philcare, Medserve , EA Phils, Generali, Fortune Care, CAP, Blue Cross, Cocolife, HMI, MMG, I-Care and CDUH Healthcare. For Foreign Nationals, we do provide all the possible documents for reimbursement. Post op Checkup is one day and one month for uneventful cases.
Regarding your IOL Options, the Premium lenses are the following:
ACRYSOF® IQ RESTOR® Multifocal IOL- designed to allow patients to see clearly at all distances without bifocals or reading glasses. Delivers a high level of glasses-free vision for cataract patients. Estimated price is P85, 000. 00 per eye.
ACRYSOF® IQ Aspheric Natural IOL- uses more advanced technology than traditional monofocal lenses. Result would be higher quality vision, more distinct images, finer resolution and greater capacity to recognize objects even in low- light conditions. Estimated price is P45, 000. 00 per eye.
ACRYSOF® IQ Toric aspheric IOL, which corrects for both conditions simultaneously by delivering precise astigmatic correction, predictable outcomes and quality distance vision without glasses for cataract patients with astigmatism. Estimated price per eye P65,000 per eye.
ACRYSOF® IQ RESTOR® Multifocal Toric lens – designed to allow patients to see clearly at all distances without bifocals or reading glasses simultaneously by delivering precise astigmatic correction, predictable outcomes and quality distance vision without glasses for cataract patients with astigmatism. Estimated price is P95,000 per eye.
Please take note while others will offer cheaper Premium Lenses, they are in fact not US FDA /BFAD approved thus quality cannot be assured.
FEMTOSECOND LASER CATARACT SURGERY
In order to maintain our status as one of the most advanced eye facility in the country, we recently acquired the new Alcon LenSx – the first laser system approved by the U.S. FDA for cataract surgery. This system delivers an image guided computer precision that demonstrates an enhanced surgical ACCURACY and tremendous REPRODUCIBLITY. The Alcon LenSX femtosecond laser differs from the traditional methods of cataract surgery by the absence of the blade. By using very short yet intense bursts of near-infrared light, the Alcon LenSX femtosecond laser technology is able to create extremely precise subsurface cuts without manual intervention The blades used to create the small incisions in the eye have been completely replaced by this laser, making the incisions more precise and predictable. In addition, the circular opening that is created in the human lens in order to access the cataract (called a capsulotomy) which was traditionally performed by human hands has now been replaced by the femtosecond laser, making the capsulotomies more architecturally round and centered. Studies have shown that this is very important in intraocular lens stability and refractive predictability of surgical outcomes (In one study by the American Academy of Ophthalmology, femtosecond laser incisions achieved perfect capsulotomy diameter accuracy in 100 percent of cases). Finally, the actual cataract is also fragmented by the femtosecond laser making it much easier and less traumatic for the surgeon to remove and clean it up prior to placement of the IOL. In short, This has replaced many of the steps in the cataract surgery eliminating crucial steps in which may be prone to human error. It is safe, fast, precise and scalpel/blade FREE. Our total cost per eye is P35,000 for use of the machine. You simply add this amount to the package (depending on which type of premium IOL you desire to give you the total amount. This the first and only unit in Visayas and Mindanao and only the 4th unit is in ASIA.

Subject: Info on Lasik via our new Alcon Wavelight Refractive Station.
Greetings!
Centre for Sight has been at to forefront of Refractive Surgery since 2002 and has performed the most number of LASIK Procedures outside Metro Manila (>10,000 procedures to date).
Our schedule for the Refractive Surgery is every Wednesday afternoon of the week. Therefore, you will have your screening any day before the Wednesday that you’ve decided for your operation. For contact lens wearers, please be advised to remove contact lenses 3-5 days prior screening day. The screening process is a comprehensive eye exam where in several tests are performed to determine if you’re a good candidate for the procedure. Our surgeon, Dr. Yong Larrazabal III, will evaluate the results from the screening and advice you of which procedure : All-Laser LASIK ( No blade), Traditional LASIK, Epi-LASIK, LASEK, PRK and CK) is the best treatment plan for you.
The procedure will only take 5 to 10 minutes per eye in the O.R. and then you will be requested to rest for about 20 to 30 minutes before you can leave the centre. The next day, on Thursday, you will be required to return to the clinic for a follow up visit. The follow up visits usually consist of 1 day, 1 week, 1 month to 3 months and a year after the procedure. If your stay is limited, we can furnish you all the necessary medical documents for a follow up in your place.
The procedure for the traditional LASIK ( use of microkeratome with blade to create flap) normally cost P65, 000.00, we are currently charging a promotional price of P50, 000.00 for both eyes or P30,000.00 if only one eye is to be treated. For our All-Laser LASIK ( no blade) procedure, from a regular cost of P130,000.00, we currently charge an introductory price of P 95,000 for both eyes or P52, 500 for treatment of one eye. Please take note while other eye facilities will offer you a “bladeless” procedure, this is in fact not LASIK but a mere PRK or EPILASIK procedure. Here, the Corneal Epithelium is scraped off the surface with a device. The disadvantage of which is delayed wound healing ( 3 to 7 days) and risk of Corneal Haze ( scar) formation.
The Professional Fee of the surgeon, screening fee, the medication (eye drops) and protective goggles right after the procedure are included in. The follow up visits to check the patient for 3 months starting from the date of the procedure is covered. Our offer is already a discounted price; therefore, it is the final rate. We accept payments through cash or credit cards.
I hope I have provided you all the necessary details. Kindly email me soon so we can arrange a schedule for your appointment with us.
Thank you. We hope to see soon!
