2007 University Run Fires off this Sunday by Calvin Cordova (Cebu Daily News, August 15, 2007)

Mandaue City, Philippines – Marathon enthusiasts are in for another exciting race when the 2007 University Run unfolds this Sunday at the new Cebu Doctors University Campus at the North Reclamation Area in Mandaue City. “We are calling all individuals to join the race since by joining they will also get the chance to help others,” said Dr. Yong Larrazabal, founder of the Run for Sight Foundation, which is the organizing group of the event. The foundation has already organized marathons in the past as it aims to provide assistance to the less fortunate. Proceeds of the race, which was formally launched yesterday at the new CDU campus, will be donated to the Cataract Foundation. Registration fee is pegged at P150. The race will have the students category (3K), club category (6K), open category (13K), medical doctors category (13K), executives category (13k) and CebuDoc Employees category (13K). Race director Raymond Silot said that they have already coordinated with the proper authorities to ensure the success of the event. Interested individuals can register at the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) office located inside the Cebu City Sports Center (CCSC).
