More 2,000 competitive and recreational runners will converge today at the Cebu Provincial Capitol building to answer the starting gun of the 1st University Run-Run for Sight 10k and 5k runs.
The Men’s Open division champion in the 10k division of the race, which is being organized by Dr. Potenciano Larrazabal III and the technical team of Sports and Fitness Enthusiasts (Safe) of Joel Baring, will receive P5,000 while the first and second runners up will take home P4,000 and P3,000, respectively.

Weirdest get-up

The proceeds of this race on the other hand, will go to Cebu City cataract foundation and other service facilities.
Beneficiary
The beneficiary is close to Larrazabal’s heart being a specialist in ophthalmology and refractive surgery.
The 10-kilometer event is divided into Men’s and Women’s Open divisions, Doctor’s, Executives and Cebu Doctor’s University employees.
The 5k fun run, on the other hand, is open to student and parent-students.
Special prizes will also given to the biggest delegation, which Timex Runners Club is bent on winning after it registered 190 runners for the event.
There will also be prizes for the liveliest contingent and for the racer with the wackiest get-up.
The race is presented by Safe, &dot Sports, Seiko, Sight First Runners Club and Cebu Road Runners Club. (JSV)
