Sight First Clinics opening

Cebu Doctors’ Hospital’s (CDH) Sight First Clinics, after it was launched last Sept. 2, is bringing hope and good news to Cebuanos who have eye problems.

The clinics, owned and headed by ophthalmologist Dr. Potenciano “Yong” Larrazabal III, is located adjacent to the Centre For Sight.

“We offer almost everything you need for the eyes.” said Larrazabal.

Procedures like the newest one called LASIK, eye laser surgery, cataract removal, retina and optic nerve examination and glaucoma monitoring are executed carefully by a solid team of ophthalmologist who work with Larrazabal. They are Dr. Myra Ocubillo, Dr. Kim Cruse, and Dr. Elna Amodia.

According to Larrazabal, the LASIK procedure is the latest they have. A customized eye laser surgery. It uses the high-tech laser machine called Technolas 217Z Excimer.

Patients like businessman Francis Llaban, medicine student Cheryl Carcel and mechanical engineer Peter Harder said the best technology available (like Technolas excimer laser machine, Zyoptix customized laser, Phacoemulsification machine, Leica microscope, ophthalmic surgical microscope, and Canon non-contact tonometer) are used in the procedures.

“We gained total freedom from eyeglasses and contact lenses,” Llaban and Carcel said.

“Because my work is very demanding, i went for the best technology available, which is the Zyoptix customized laser,” admitted Harder.

Other satisfied clients are Honorary Consul to Austria Arcadio Alegrado and business couple Felipe and Lea Pansoy.

Larrazabal explained that the center was put up to address the growing needs of Cebuanos as far as the science of ophthalmology is concerned.

“It’s always convenient when one has good vision. We hope to bring the services to the people, not them necessarily going to other places and abroad to avail themselves of eye surgery. Our clinic is the answer to most of our eye needs.”

During the event, the website http://www.sightfirstclinics.com was also launched. The website was developed by Larrazabal’s wife, Donna Cruz.
